Hi! 👋

My name is Yoon Mi (first name) Oh (last name). (There’s often confusion with my first name because it’s written on my passport with a space between Yoon and Mi!)

I’m a quantitative linguist interested in the phonological and morphological aspects of the world’s languages. I apply quantitative and data-driven approaches to cross-language studies on the following topics:

â—¦ Information density and rate
â—¦ Language acquisition and production
â—¦ Language universals and linguistic typology
â—¦ Morphological and phonological complexity
â—¦ Oral and written multilingual corpus processing

I’ve been working as an associate professor of French language and literature at Ajou University in South Korea. You can find more information about my education and experience on the CV. Also look at the Publications and Projects pages to check out the list of my publications and research projects.

I enjoy learning foreign languages and speak Korean, English, French, and Spanish fluently. So you can contact me in one of these four languages. To finish with, my life outside academia is quite filled with passions for traveling, nature, reading, and art.
